The Atlas Harran Design Collection is managed under the directorship of Ömer Faruk Çelik, District Governor of Harran, and realized with ADEM (Family Support Centre) within the Governorship of Harran.

Ömer Faruk Çelik
Mr Ömer Faruk Çelik was born in 1986 in Altınyayla, Burdur. After completing his primary and secondary education in Altınyayla, he graduated from Bursa Hürriyet Lisesi. In 2007, he graduated from the Public Administration Department of Dumlupınar University.
He began his public service career in 2009 as an Assistant Revenue Specialist. His path in public administration has been shaped by a commitment to community development and institutional service.
Under his directorship, the Atlas Harran project brings together design, craftsmanship, and social impact — supporting local and Syrian refugee women through handmade production in felt, wood, weaving, and ceramic ateliers.
The Atlas Harran Design Collection draws deep inspiration from the ancient Mesopotamian landscape and its enduring cultural legacy. Under the guidance of the Governorship of Harran, this initiative brings together designers and artisans to reinterpret the region's rich symbolic heritage through contemporary craftsmanship. Motifs drawn from celestial bodies like the sun, moon, and stars—which once guided the spiritual and agricultural cycles of the Harranians—appear in tableware, textiles, and decorative objects. The collection honors the layered history of the Harran plains, where civilizations have settled and flourished for millennia, translating ancient knowledge into forms that speak to modern aesthetics and sustainable design practices.
The design ethos of the collection is rooted in a warm, earthy palette that echoes the tones of the Mesopotamian landscape — muted terracotta, olive, sand, and deep espresso browns set against soft cream backgrounds. These colors are complemented by occasional deep navy and gold accents drawn from the natural environment and historical artifacts. Serif typography for display elements evokes an elegant, editorial quality, while clean sans-serif fonts provide clarity for body text and navigation. The result is a refined visual language that balances tradition with contemporary minimalism, creating pieces that feel both timeless and distinctly modern in their expression.
Beyond its aesthetic ambitions, the Atlas Harran Design Collection carries a social mission rooted in local community development. Managed in partnership with ADEM (Family Support Centre) under the Governorship of Harran, the project aims to foster sustainable design economy and empower local artisans. ADEM & the Governorship
Production for the Atlas Design Collection takes place within ADEM, the Family Support Centre operating under the Governorship of Harran. This structure provides the foundation for women's participation in the project, combining skills training with meaningful economic opportunity.
The collaboration between the District Governorship, the curatorial team at in-between.online, and the women artisans of Harran reflects a model where public institutions and design culture work together toward sustainable social change.

Guided by the Governorship of Harran, the collection demonstrates how cultural heritage, contemporary design, and community empowerment can intersect — creating objects that carry the stories of Harran into the wider world.
